Reinforcing the nets
June 10th, 2006
Saturdays game is ON. Be there at 7pm tonight, or earlier if you want to help me rebuild the nets. I bought some coated chicken wire (as well as some new wing nuts) which should do the job. I’ll be at the rink around 6:30 to start laying the new metal net on.
Wednesday we had the usual showing, 5 on 5 with 2 goalies and 2 subs each. Jason played a tremendous game in goal for the dark team, making his PSHL goalie debut a memorable one. For the white team we had a new comer try out goalie for the first two periods. He struggled a bit, but did block a few shots.
The dark team got off to a strong start to take a 3-1 lead in the first period.
The second period was more of the same as the dark team built their lead up 9-3.
Marcus took over in goal for the white team in the third period and made quite a few really nice saves which gave the white team a chance to mount a small comeback. While the white team did manage to win the third period (6-5), the dark team was too strong and came away with a 14-9 victory.
Player of the game goes to Jason (who made some incredible saves, one diving across the net!) with honorable mention going to Rado for his splendid passing, ball control and defense.
Keep your stick on the ice,
- Tim
