Greatest Hockey Game in America (tonight)
July 8th, 2006
Saturdays game is ON. Be there around 7pm tonight for what may be the greatest hockey game in America. (at least between 7pm and 11pm on 7/8/06)
Wednesday we had a really close match as Jason took on Leon (he’s back!) in goal. The dark team scored on their first two screen shots past Jason before the white team game back and scored 3 of their own. The score was 3-3 after a long first period.
The second period was back and forth the whole time and even though the white defense sagged a bit, the dark offense only managed 1 goal. This period ended on a save (not a goal as is customary) due to it’s length and the stellar play by both goalies. Score tied 4-4.
Leon had to leave after the 2nd period so Brian graciously stepped in goal for the dark team (and made a number of nice glove saves). Both teams again played very intensely during the 3rd period but Maros’ energy lead the dark team to score 4 incredible goals for 8-5 dark victory.
The shootout was won by Jason who didn’t allow a single goal by either team.
We had two players of the game:
Maros, who really turned it on in the third period despite a strong defensive effort by the white squad.
Jason, who stood on his head throughout the game for the white team and made this a close game despite being thoroughly out shot.
Keep your stick on the ice,
- Tim
