Saturday’s game is ON.  Be there tonight at 8pm for the first semi-cool game of hockey in a few weeks.  It may not even be 100 degrees when we begin!

We had a really good showing on Wednesday (2 subs to a side) which made for a competitive and close game.  Weston played exactly like a screen set up in front of the goal and stopped numerous breakaways and 2 on 1’s from the white team.  This helped the dark team get off to an early, seemingly commanding, lead as Ben channeled all of England into each one of his crisp shots and passes which more often than not found there way into the back of the net.  However luck would have it for the white team as Ben had to leave a bit early, leaving room for a late surge to tie the game at 9-9 just before the lights went out to end a great evening of hockey.

Player of the game goes to Weston with honorable mention going to Ben, Derek (who played strong goal once again for the white team) and Chad (who scored one of the first goals of the game in his very first PSHL game).

The Goalie Rule will be in effect:  this means if we need a goalie (or two) when the game is ready to begin, the last one at the rink will be required to play at least 1 period in net.  Bringing a six-pack (or more) of beer will free you from this duty and the next to last person will instead be responsible.  The goalie gear is freshly washed so this shouldn’t’ be a big deal.
